Richard Erhard brings together an independent association of multidisciplinary professional related service providers, Richard Erhard and Associates, LLC, for the objective of providing mutual support and assistance to public and private individuals and organizations. To mitigate both the financial and human cost of litigation, these professionals assist with the management and resolution of conflict through the use of mediation, meeting facilitation and third party neutral fact finding and evaluation. To assist organizations build capacity in dispute management and resolution, Richard Erhard and Associates, LLC also provide professional development training in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) approaches to conflict.

 

Business Facilities:

Our state of the art, ADA compliant facilities, include conference and separate meeting rooms for most any situation. We have an on-site business and reproduction center, covered parking, as well as an on-site café. We are located ten to fifteen minutes from the San Diego International Airport and a city block from the Amtrak, Coaster and San Diego Trolley stations.

ADR Training:

Mr. Erhard has completed over 400 hours of certified ADR training. His first formal training in mediation was in 1990; Special Education Negotiation and Mediation, conducted by the New Mexico State Department of Education and New Mexico State University. He holds certification under the Dispute Resolutions Programs Act (DRPA), through the University of California, Irvine, Extension, July 2002. He also holds a Certificate in Conflict Management and the Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution, November 2003, following the completion of 15 quarter units (150 hours) of evaluated learning from the University of California, Irvine, Extension. In December 2016, Mr. Erhard successfully completed a 40 hour training in Mediating Commercial and Litigated Cases, with Lee Jay Berman at the American Institute of Mediation (AIM) in Los Angeles, California. In addition, he holds seven (7) Certificates of Completion from the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University, School of Law from 2004 to present, including Expanding Mediation: Mindfulness in Mediation; Conflict Consulting; and most recently, Advanced Mediation: Skills and Techniques.

Professional Organizations, Education, Licenses and Activities:

Richard Erhard has been an Associate Member of the American Bar Association since 2003 and currently belongs to both the Dispute Resolution and Senior Lawyer Sections. As a retired Assistant Superintendent, he continues to be a member of the Association of California School Administrators. He has served, and continues to serve, on multiple professional Boards and has presented at local, regional and national conferences on the topics of disability law, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and dispute resolution in schools. Mr. Erhard holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and graduate degrees in both Special Education and Educational Management and Development. He holds a professional Clear Administrative Services license in California and has held professional administrative licenses in New Mexico and Washington, including Superintendent. He enjoys open water swimming, kayaking and yoga for recreation.
